OkBuddyPHD is the official discord server of the r/okbuddyphd subreddit, a subreddit which takes direct inspiration from OkBR. Unlike many Irony Servers, it is filled with relatively sane individuals who discuss topics that can actually help you in life like literature, philosophy, economics, math, and many more. Each of these subjects have their own dedicated channels with roles you can select for people to know which subject you are interested in.

History[edit | edit source]

The server was created on the 27th of October, 2020. It initially saw small growth until the server got advertised a bit more by its staff. It went from around 200 members to about 600 in about a year. Considering the subreddit's size, just around 50 thousand people, it is quite the achievement. The server does not have much drama and is relatively niche in lore and history compared to other Irony Servers, but it is still worthwhile checking it out as it still stands somewhat nicely amongst the crowd.

Topic Channels[edit | edit source]

The server has dedicated channels for certain subjects, usually those which you learn at school (duh!) This includes :

  • #philosophy
  • #linguistics
  • #physics-and-mathematics
  • #biology-and-chemistry
  • #computer-science
  • #literature
  • #humanities
  • #economics

These channels aren't completely serious and are still filled with irony. Sometimes though, there is a serious, phd-owning gentelman filled discussion. All the channels also have their own roles relating to the subject.
