r/dreamgender was both a subreddit and Discord server that was centered around worshipping and stanning the popular Minecraft YouTuber Dream. Many of its users identified themselves as "dreamgender" or "dreamsexual", which refers to the sexual orientation that regards the attraction, admiration, and identification towards Dream, as described by the Know Your Meme's page explaining what the two terms mean. Although many people could not tell if their users were just joking about being overly obsessed with Dream or were dead serious about it, the entire thing would end up being satire. Both the subreddit and Discord server are not associated with the people who started dreamgender/dreamsexual as a thing on Twitter, since the owners just wanted to make their own group for themselves. The Discord server ended up getting nuked on December 6th, 2021, and the subreddit was banned on February 12th, 2022 for promoting hate speech.

The r/dreamgender subreddit provided a safe-space for people who resonated with the sexuality and gender to share their own experiences and thoughts about Dream.
Subreddit Rules
As shown in a pinned post that was made by the founder, u/viche1, the rules for the subreddit were pretty simple for most people to follow, which are as listed:
- Must either be an ally to dreamgenders and dreamsexuals, be dreamgender or dreamsexual yourself.
- Do not be racist, homophobic, transphobic, xenophobic, ableist, ageist, classist, misogynistic, anti-semitic, or islamophobic.
- Try to keep political discussion to a minimum.
- Must be dreamgender, dreamsexual, or a dreamsexual/dreamgender ally.
- Be nice.
- Flair NSFW and spoilers.
- Love Dream.
- Make sure you're flaired, and make sure to flair your posts.
- Posts must be related to dreamsmp, Dream, dreamsexuality, dreamgenderism, or Minecraft.
- Have fun!!!!
r/dreamgender Gets Banned
During early 2022, the subreddit would eventually get banned by Reddit for violating Reddit's rule against promoting hate. It is believed that the subreddit was taken down possibly due to the fact that being a dreamsexual/dreamgender is considered offensive to the LGBTQ+ community or either because Dream himself didn't like people making a whole sexuality and gender out of him, as he stated in a deleted tweet.
