r/Okbhaibudbak is an Indian discord server for a subreddit with the same name, the r/okbhaibudbak subreddit is an Indian spin-off of the the famous r/okbuddyretard subreddit, the subreddit is dedicated to share indian ironic memes and jokes which are intentionally nonsensical and absurd. With over 15,000 members it is one of the bigger ironic meme pages on Indian internet.

On July 2020, Masakali#9664 decided to create an Indian okbr sub called r/okbuddyindian, which was banned within a few days for "recreating a banned subreddit". This was not the case, however. Attempts were made at repealing the ban, which did not prove to be fruitful.

Fast forward to October 2020, when he met Agent 178, the only other Indian person in the Romanian okbr server who knew about okbuddyindian, and wanted to create an Indian okbr sub (Agent 178 would soon become an admin on the okbb discord and mod on the subreddit).

In December 2020, he then met mittro70 on the r/redditmoment server, who was a mod on r/ihaveihaveihavereddit. When he informed him about okbuddyindian, mittro told him about a subreddit called okbhaibudbak, which was dead, but had potential for growth. mittro70 later suggested him to apply for the role of a mod on that subreddit. Although Masakali was on board with the idea, he wanted to wait a while longer, hoping that he would eventually get r/okbuddyindian. However, in January 2021, he lost hope, and messaged Sixtixx#0012 for mod on okbhaibudbak. Initially, he thought that he wouldn't be given the position, because of his history as a powermod. Surprisingly, he was given the position. From then on, Masakali worked on the subreddit, growing it to what it is (even today).

Later, on january 30th 2021, the discord server was created, and the IQ of India went down significantly.

Mini-Timeline (Discord)

2021

This was the starting year of the server but it doesn't mean nothing happened this year. Some of the earliest members were responsible for creating some of the first in-jokes, such as "anyone PES", "didn't ask lolz!", "My GF" etc. In the early months the discord was kept alive by around 10-15 members, but that didn't mean that there wasn't "fun" lurking around at every corner. Around October, okbhaibudbak saw its first big wave of users due to the IDM raid (indiandankmemes) which is the most popular meme subreddit in India but also is very unfunny. This year also saw the rise of thug (slang for gay black porn), introduced by Indian Emperor in the server. At first, it was not welcome, but soon enough, even the owner started to be fond of it.

2022

This year was the most chaotic for the server as many important events occurred. Many notable memes and server inside jokes were created like ration, allu arjun , genesis and etc.

One event was a now famous argument. Fard and Gaumata, two active (at the time) users didn't like each other and insulted each other in chat. They decided to fight in the vc. Sixtixx decided the date of the argument to be June 1 and recorded the event. During the argument, Fard told Gaumata to insert a knife in his asshole then take it out and lick the shit and blood on the knife; and then to cut his testicles off and suck the semen from them. This became a famous phrase. They eventually agreed to hate on Noida instead of fighting in a second argument which happened on 27 June. The anniversary of this event was celebrated next year.

The most important thing which happened this year was the deletion of the general chat (RIP #whatsapp-group-chaat). The former mod Himanshu was the culprit. He said that he meant to delete a different channel but accidentally deleted general; but he now says he actually deleted it because he accidentally posted his friend(Raunaq#5922)'s dick pic in the chat. (This was a dumb decision because it doesn't hide the image any more than just deleting the message) This year was also the year in which the person who made okbhaibudbak what it is today (Masakali) left but he would join back the server the next year.

2023

In 2023, the latest Epic Bruh moment (March Edition) occurred, a fraction of formerly banned okbhaibudbak discord members formed a group called retards of India (acronym: ROI) initially they wanted to partner with us, but when the mod team and the owner rejected the idea, they conducted several raids and spammed child pornography in the general chat. The mod team had to close the server until recently when it was re-opened with the explicit filter turned on to avoid the same.

On May 7, non_neutral, the Assistant Owner, said that he would leave the server if his message got 100 stars. In 3 days, the message received 100 stars after many @everyone pings. After coming back from school, he pinged everyone again and left. But he did not leave forever. He pulled a Caskain and rejoined in an hour. He was banned but got unbanned 5 minutes later, and he immediately rejoined. He then said that he is a changed man and professed his love for the server.

Anyone PES?

In early okbhaibudbak, it was a meme to say “Anyone PES?” as a way to say “Hi”. It was a reference to the football video game Pro Evolution Soccer. The literal meaning of this term is “Does anyone want to play PES together?”. The first reference to "anyone PES" was when now rogue member Gandhi shared a screenshot of his group chat which contained the infamous message "Anyone PES".

Smaller, Manufactured In-Jokes

-My GF: This was started and carried by (mostly) Josh, who used to post pictures/GIFs of hot women, and would proceed to proclaim that they were "his GF".

-Didn't ask lolz! what a nigg: This was started by pythonp, initially as a reaction to random messages sent by people. He claims to have found it as a response used by someone in the arabfunny subreddit.

-Mexicov food: This was a comment left on a fart fetish video that was found by Sixtixx, by Sixtixx himself. He claimed that this was him after eating "mexicov food". This was found by the other users on the sub before becoming a mini joke for the typo

Thug in OkBhaiBudbak

Thug, slang for gay pornography of black people, is a popular meme across discord meme servers, but it wasn’t always popular in OkBhaiBudbak. It was introduced to the server by Indian Emperor in late 2021 and became very popular since. It was initially disliked, but users (including the owner) soon started to be fond of it and started to spam it. Here is an example.

Hoja Hoja

In late 2021, Agent 178, co owner of the server, wanted to reply to a Hindi message but was having a hard time as he is Tamil and doesn’t know Hindi. He eventually replied with “hoja hoja”. This seemed funny and became a meme in the server. It is dead now though.

Genesis

This is an emote introduced to the sub by Sixtixx in early 2022. He claims to have found it on the irony haven discord server. The image is of a woman sticking her whole hand inside her asshole with the caption "Looking for who asked". This can be, by extension, considered thug as well. This emote caught on incredibly quickly and nearly every message going forward had a genesis react (especially the mod messages on the announcement chats). This was also one of the first words that ended up being turned into verbs and subsequently creeping into the users' real life conversations (mostly text limited, of course). Co-founder Sixtixx has expressed regret in bringing the emote over and even considered removing it altogether at times, as it was incredibly over used in a very short period of time, hence becoming unfunny quite quickly. As of June 2023 however, the emote is still present and commonly used.

Kya Baat h Emperor

In May 2022, Mastermind posted a video by Rajni Chaudhary in the server which was a review of the car Range Rover Evoque. He had commented an ironic insult comment, “noob girl ur bad at car drive”. This prompted other users to comment with comments of a similar nature on the video. Indian Emperor commented “Blah blah chup hoja, ladkiyo jo bolti hai uska koi matlab nahi hota hai!”. Surprisingly, Rajni herself actually responded to the comment, with “Kya baat h Emperor.. …..Emperor….”. This reply’s text was used as a caption on a gif of Hindustani Bhau laughing to create the server meme. The gif is posted often when Indian Emperor is in chat.
