The website would have a notable impact on irony culture and its formation, with the advent of ''Rage Comics'' and the popularization of other memes such as the ''Wojak'' and ''Pepe the Frog''.

Several sites would adopt things created from 4chan, with [[Reddit]] in particular inheriting the meme culture of 4chan. [[Kirbizia]] was a participating member in 4chan for a while.



The site is mostly irrelevant now. There are some connections between 4chan and irony users but it is mostly a "boogeyman" or a joke to be played around with. The website has not contributed to irony or any meme culture in a long time, and pretty much now only operates as a "porn site"<ref>https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pornography_addiction</ref>.

4chan also has a notable discord presence, with several public communities that are able to be found on ''Disboard''<ref>Site: https://disboard.org/</ref> or on the ''/soc/ - Cams and Meetups''<ref>Site: [https://4chan.org/soc/ https://4chan.org/soc/]</ref> board on 4chan.
