69MoeLester420 was a small Discord server dedicated to the shitposting subreddit r/69MoeLester420. Having opened all the way back during the r/place event of 2022, it closed almost a full year later on March 30, 2023, after merging with the 69SwagBalls420 Discord server. Despite its small size, numbering barely 50 members at its peak, the culture of this server has proven influential over its much larger successor. Some of the server's drama was resolved or buried and some of it has risen up to plague the new server. May the tumultuous history of 69MoeLester420 serve as a cautionary tale.
History
r/place
69MoeLester420 was created for the subreddit of the same name on April 3, 2022. The server was opened during r/place, at the initiative of WalterWhiteOnReddit and Max5923 to coordinate the construction of a monument to the subreddit on the r/place canvas. Several Moederators joined during this initial frenzy of activity, their esteemed names being:
- Mr. Sex
- SlenderSmurf
- Mendev
- Gladiux
Some of these people would soon fade into obscurity. Others will forever remain part of the 69MoeLester420 mythos. The server link was soon posted to the subreddit and ordinary members decided to join.[1] As is the nature with servers like these, people join, only to drift away after a while, yet one person in particular, an individual known only as Deez, remained an active member of the server until its very end, despite, by his own admission, never having heard of the subreddit before joining. Godspeed, Deez.
Early History
As the event soon concluded, the Moederators decided to keep using the server, having found it much more convenient than modmail. For a time the server remained relatively inactive, with a few shitposts being shared daily without much discussion in between, perhaps lasting a dozen messages before falling back into silence. They say hindsight is 20/20 and many things that were simply ignored at the time, or forgotten entirely, took on a more sinister aspect when gazed back upon. The fact that Gladiux was quick to insult anything he didn't find funny was one of these. At the time it seemed unremarkable, as he merely expressed thoughts shared by the other Moederators, but looking back, it seems to foreshadow the events that would transpire almost a year later.
On April 4, Bufner joined the server.
On May 22, Gio249, another subreddit mod and a friend of Gladiux, joined the server.
The Renaissance Era
On May 23, Better Call Saul Presents: Slippin' Jimmy was released on AMC+.[2] The Breaking Bad community went wild. Having been released so close to the season 6 finale of Better Call Saul, Slippin' Jimmy was seen as a personal insult by fans of Breaking Bad; a clear cash-grab meant to capitalize on the success of its sister show. It was Family Guy for kids, with none other than Saul Goodman as its face.
So thought the uneducated masses, unable to think critically about what they watch. But the show did not fly under 69MoeLester420's radar, as the intellectuals of the server were able to see the genius of Slippin' Jimmy. The intelligentsia of the server responsed with their own stunning commentary on the show: on June 4, Pickle Jimmy was released into the world.
On the very same day, lightning would be bottled once more, as emojis were added to the server. Trollface came first, suggested by none other than Deez, but it was soon trumped by the world-famous Trollbama, courtesy of r/trollbama, a subreddit once moderated by Mr. Sex, now entrusted to WalterWhiteOnReddit. As inconceivable as it may seem that comedy gold would be struck twice in a single day, the third strike was the real kicker, a combination of the two worth more than the sum of its parts; the :picklejimmy: emoji. After such a success, the entire comedy industry went out of business, knowing that nothing would ever surpass the achievements of that fateful day.
In the days that followed, the server became active once more, with actual conversations taking place between image posts, creating an environment almost as lively as the server was the day it opened.
On June 20, koonsbmw joined the server.
On July 31, Max5923 suggests making an Automoderator response under every post containing the server link. Up to that point, new members could only join by following the link on a subreddit post, leading to a low member count during its first few months. While nothing was initially done to follow through with the suggestion, it was repeated so many times that it was finally implemented.
CatKicker6617
Contrary to popular belief, the r/69MoeLester420 subreddit was not opened by Moe himself. The user KittenStomper6617 was responsible for the creation and early growth of the community. Kittenstomper was permabanned from Reddit (When?) and not much is known about his activity following that ban, as he was not a member of the server.
Contact was lost with KittenStomper6617 until August 2, when WalterWhiteOnReddit noticed a peculiar comment under a post on r/69MoeLester420. (A screenshot or transcript of the comment should be added here.)
The reaction was primal and instantaneous - the idea that the owner of the subreddit had returned after so many months in exile was exhilarating, it almost seemed too good to be true. An entire evening was spent in blissful ignorance, with the new CatKicker6617 receiving the treatment of a returning Messiah, until another message was received, dashing the collective hopes of the MoeLester community; a reply under one of CatKicker6617's comments which contained a link to a comment in the subreddit r/TrueSTL, a subreddit that KittenStomper6617 used to frequent. The link led to an edited comment of KittenStomper6617's, calling CatKicker6617 out as an imposter. The joy created by KittenStomper6617's prodigal return soon faded.
Moments later, the second realization hit.
KittenStomper6617 was still active and editing his comments! The alt account with which KittenStomper6617 contacted the Moederators was banned only hours later. Although KittenStomper6617 was gone, hope remained.
On December 3, Ivan697 joined the server.
The Dark Ages
On December 6 the server link was added as an automoderator response to every post to r/69MoeLester420. Previously the majority of the conversations on the server were held almost exclusively by the mod team, with the notable exceptions of Deez and Norman the Mormon. The automod response resulted in a sudden influx of new users who started to participate in the server. Given the sheer brilliance of the early posts, it was no surprise that the server took a major downturn in quality.
This period, despite its negative impact on the overall state of the server, allows for the history of MoeLester to be divided into two parts; the first, in which the server was nothing more than a glorified group chat for the Moederators, and the second, in which the server truly became part of the community at large. Although the first few days were rough, the public invite would prove to be a blessing in disguise, in time revealing many issues present in the server and the mod team.
The Exile of Bufner
If anyone could be described as the odd one out in the MoeLester family, it was Bufner. Between the all-but-forgotten Happy Wheels Coup and the random opening of channels no one would use (at least for their original purpose),[3] it was almost as if he was living in a world from the other Moederators, doing as he pleased, unbothered by whether or not other users would care for his activities. His presence, however, was uncontroversial for the most part (barring the r/fatfurs incident), as he spent most of his time fucking around in the #bot-channel. Unfortunately, this place would serve as the catalyst for his exile.
Before the details of the story are revealed, let it be known that the actions taken by the Moederators here will not be defended. It will be told how it happened, as unflattering as the whole situation may be to the server leadership as a whole. It is important to share, however, to show how much of this behavior was tolerated in the past.
It started off innocently enough. Using the esmBot, Bufner took an image and fed it into the bot repeatedly, in order to create a chain of subreddits at the bottom of the image. He started with the classics, the comedy black holes that are r/funny, r/gaming and r/dankmemes, but pretty soon an unconventional subreddit name found itself on the list.
As edgy as the server was at the time, using this word clearly pushed its boundaries. Ironic rape threats may have been shared almost daily,[4] but racism was still taken somewhat seriously by the mod team. Although no punishment was given, it was assumed this issue would not be repeated and it was clear there would be consequences should this happen again.
And yet, it happened again.
It was slightly different this time around. Instead of the n-word being simply spelled out, the second incident was a thinking man's conundrum, a puzzle only solvable by the intellectual elite of society, for only a true genius could find the hidden meaning of a GIF showing nothing but the letter "N" dancing around.
It would be quite unfortunate if someone else coincidentally posted a GIF featuring the letter "I" right afterward. What naughty word might these letters write out in the end? Surely not the n-word of all things?
The majority of mods, contrary to popular belief, aren't 6-year-old children who are amused by slurs and issue was taken with this GIF. Bufner decided to, following the short conversation about it, post the GIF in mod chat. Thankfully, the n-word chain was shut down before it could really begin.
With the previous incident still fresh in minds of the Moederators, this failure of a chain was brought attention to Bufner's behavior and started a days-long focus on him.
Unfortunately, much of what happened in the following days has been lost to time, as many messages were deleted by Bufner himself without any logs to back them up. What remains, however, is not a pretty story.
While almost all the mods agreed that Bufner's posts were cringe and had no place in this server, the way this situation was handled was cruel. Gladiux and Gio, along with a few other mods who joined in from time to time, bullied Bufner, mocking him after almost every single message he posted.
Signs of distress were visible in some of Bufner's messages, yet the mods carried on.
On December 20, Bufner left the server and hasn't been contacted by any Moederator since.
The Departure of Max
Max5923 was present at the very beginning of the server, having been its creator and main coordinator during the r/place conquest. It may sound unusual then, that his presence was barely felt by the other members of the server.
Max5923 was rarely online, and being the owner of the server, was the only Moederator who could grant other users mod permissions. This proved incredibly impractical.
To combat this issue, a special role, meant to grant a measure of power to the new mods, was created. This only served to complicate things, as it meant some of the mods would have the original role, and some would have the new role.
Having two roles of different colors made the server look uglier than it ought to and generally made things more confusing then they needed to be.
With the Bufner incident in full swing, it was clear that this state of affairs could not last.
Having been active so little, and planning on taking a break from social media anyways, Max5923 decided to step down as Lead Moederator. Although he remained in the server as a mostly inactive member, on December 17 Max5923 abdicated as Owner and granted full ownership of the server to Mr. Sex. As one final action before giving away ownership, another role, named moewner, was created, meant to be given to the most trusted members of the mod team. While the ownership of the server could not be shared between multiple members, Max5923 wished to distribute the power among the moederators, ultimately granting the role to koonsbmw, Walter and the aforementioned Mr. Sex.
After the change in ownership was finalized, the moewner role went beyond its intended purpose, and was given to other mods, most notably, Gladiux and his partner in crime, Gio. Although it seemed like a harmless idea at the time, this shift in power established a hierarchy in the mod team, giving full permissions (and disproportionate powe) to a select few. Once the moewner role was given to someone, it could not be removed without the direct involvement of the Owner. This essentially cemented the power of Gladiux and Gio.[5]
Having left the position of Owner, Max5923 diminished his already meager presence on the server, posting a handful of messages every few weeks before fading into obscurity. Although nothing has been heard from Max5923 in months, his influence in the growth of the MoeLester mythos should not be understated. An incredible group of people got together and remain together a full year later. While we don't see you anymore, on behalf of the entire mod team I thank you for creating this server.
Godspeed, Max5923.
An Odd Fellow
On December 17, a new user joined the server. This was not an uncommon occurrence and their presence barely noticed by the moederators. After posting a few messages in furry-speak, this user seemingly recognized koonsbmw as the furry moderator of the 69MoeLester420 subreddit.
The user was silent for a while before starting to once again engage in conversations on December 31. The user showed an interest in the Moederators, first striking up a conversation with Mr. Sex, before going on to greet Walter. The user professed love to these two, as though they were old friends and not strangers.
Although the user was quiet for the most part, they radiated a wholesome energy that was much appreciated. Such behavior is unusual in shitposting servers and it was a nice break from the usual negativity and poisonous irony that permeates such places. This user was much better company than most of the new server members.
The conversations on the server continued unchanged for a time. The fact that the user cared so much about the moederators was strange as most Reddit users don't give a swag who their moderators are. Even so, it wasn't weird enough to stick in the minds of the moederators.
On January 3 Mr. Sex shared the news of yet another KittenStomper6617 alt account being banned from Reddit.
All it took was a single message from the user.
And suddenly, it clicked.
The server went wild.
KittenStomper6617 was back.
The Swag Alliance
On January 8, r/LesbianInsectBrothel was banned from Reddit.[6] A sudden influx of gore videos hit the subreddit. The moderators, inactive accounts that hadn't logged into the website in weeks, took no action. It wasn't long before Reddit admins took matters into their own hands and destroyed the subreddit. The total destruction of such a large shitposting subreddit as a response to a situation no one could have predicted, made the moderators of other shitposting communities reconsider their approach to moderating, with new methods to stop would-be attackers being implemented across the website. r/69MoeLester420 was no exception.
The Moederators, in their eternal wisdom, had already devised a system to deal with the problem the shitposting community was facing. By setting up a moderation queue, every post made by a user not trusted by the mods would be automatically removed, only being shown to others if the mods deemed it worthy of seeing the front page. With the propaganda department hard at work, there was no possibility of failure. All that remained to be done was to implement the queue.
And then came a simple message.
The gauntlet was thrown. Our honor had been besmirched and we would not stand for it. This despicable action, committed by r/IDONTGIVEASWAG, was unforgivable. To steal from us, the proud nation of MoeLester, the thought of it disgusted us all.
First, the image dumps, an incredible idea retroactively started and popularized by our great and honorable leader was stolen and repurposed as cheap entertainment for the masses of r/IDONTGIVEASWAG.
Now this. The greed of IDGAS knew no end.
We were left with a single option. War.
However, a question remained. How did the plan fall into the hands of the enemy?
We had a mole within our ranks, an imposter among us - someone we trusted dearly held no allegiance to our flag.
It was Norman the Mormon. Of course that bastard did it. It all made perfect sense. A true Swag Giver surely would have confessed their misdeed right away, yet Norman remained a tough nut to crack. It was obvious where his heart was.
It was of no surprise then that this information reached the ears of the leader of Swag Nation, Meme_Alt_Account. Within the hour, they joined the server. Soon enough, Lin, representing IkeaFreshBalls, joined the server as well.

The Return of Moe
January 8 was an important day for the shitposting community. The shutdown of r/LesbianInsectBrothel echoed across the landscape and from its ashes rose new partnerships and approaches to moderation meant to stop such an event from happening again. As discussed previously, 69MoeLester420 was an active participant in the restructuring that occurred after the shutdown. But nothing could prepare the people of the server for what transpired next.
The absence of Moe throughout the history of the server may seem odd to outsiders. Why dedicate a server to a person who isn't even there to see it? While others would have given up, and, as Gladiux once suggested, repurpose the server and abandon the MoeLester name, the people of 69MoeLester420 persevered, knowing that one day their prayers would be answered, and the One would grace them with his presence.
It was on this fateful day, January 8, at precisely 8:40 PM, UTC±00:00, that it finally happened.
Bazinga, better known by his reddit username of 69MoeLester420 joined the server.
With both KittenStomper6617 and Moe present in the server, 69MoeLester420 was at its highest point yet. new heights of activity were reached and a widespread celebration was held, for our Savior was finally here!
The Story of Sam and Kae
On January 10, Samarm132 joined the server. At the time he appeared to be a common subreddit member. Although his name remained unknown, he had been discussed previously on the server, or rather, a post of his on r/ihaveihaveihavereddit, was discussed, with Gladiux commenting on the declining quality of that subreddit.
Soon it came to be known that Sam, as he will be referred to for the rest of the article, was not a complete stranger, as he revealed that he knew Berkabitz, a Reddit user that we jokingly suggested was in a relationship with Moe due to the unusual number of messages the pair exchanged.
This will become more relevant to our story as it nears its end. But in the beginning it did not matter much. Sam was quickly determined to be annoying by the Moederators. Nevertheless, he chose to stay on the server.
On January 16, Berkabitz, who will henceforth be referred to as Kae, joined the server.
On the same day, Sam revealed his computer monitor. This detail is not relevant to the story in any way. I just wanted to show that thing to you. The dimensions of it are absolutely comical. The more you look, the sillier it gets. The monitor is wider than the desk it sits on. The two edges of the screen seem to be following COVID-19 guidelines, there is a distance of 6 feet between the items and healthbar when looking at the UI. There is barely any space for the mouse, can you imagine the DPI on that thing? It is absolutely insane in every possible way and it has to be shared with the world.
The server became more active than it had ever been before as Kae and Sam started exchanging messages. With the SwagBalls moderators[7] and Moe remaining active in the following days, the server reached a new level of activity, unparalleled even by the days of r/place.
Previously, a few dozen messages were sent a day, which was not terrible for a server this small, but was completely dwarfed by the by the prodigious number of messages sent by Sam and Kae. Seeing hundreds of notifications upon opening the server became the norm.
[NOTES FOR THE FUTURE: change Kae's name, ask for any change concerning Sam's pronouns, continue the story until the end of the server, not according to chronological chapters]
The 9GAG conquest
The name "9GAG" has long brought fear to the hearts of internet users. Like some sort of infernal time machine that led only to a darker age when rage comics were celebrated unironically and advice animals were considered the peak of comedy.
Frozen in time as the years passed and social media websites rose and fell, 9GAG endured against all odds, avoiding bankruptcy by means known to no wholesome denizen of the 'net.
To the rest of the internet, it was where memes went to die, a Reddit alternative that combined the worst aspects of Reddit and Facebook, inferior to these platforms in every way. Yet 9GAG went on. It carved its own niche, one which would turn away most, yet also one where the rage comic artist would find a home.
The moederators would not be scared so easily. On January 17, Mr. Sex installed 9GAG. He acknowledged he had strayed from the path of the wholesome chungus, and wished to redeem himself through a pilgrimage to the dankest site there is.
By God, it was everything we had hoped for and so much more! Every post we saw in that antediluvian place was entirely antithetical to what comedy ought to look like. Simply scrolling through the site drained our will to live. The frightful existence of such a place was so was a mystery unfit for contemplation by a healthy human mind: why would so many people willingly choose to spend their time on 9GAG?
As members of the server began to make 9GAG accounts, Mr. Sex made a post on the site, one that went mercifully ignored by most of the site's loathsome inhabitants. It would not be until Walter made a post[8] that the 9GAGGERS noticed the intrusion. A total of 168 downvotes showered the post. The comments section was beyond belief.
So much vitriol contained in only a few replies, it was stunning to watch, primordial reaction images encrusted with JPEG artifacts that marked them as older than the average reader of this article were exchanged, with a few Reddit-tier comebacks mixed in. Soon the other mods realized they wanted in on the fun. Koonsbmw created an account, and the conquest truly began.
Then it happened.
We were blessed with what may well be the greatest moment in history, one of such majesty that its memory remains preserved in the stickers of 69SwagBalls420 long after the 69MoeLester420 server was archived.
Not everything went smoothly. The 9GAG developers, elected to place a daily limit on how many times a user could post, along with a 10 minutes window between each post or comment. It is widely believed that this was done to prevent undue strain on the single hamster that is responsible for running 9GAG's servers.
But this did not stop the proud 69MoeLester420 army, which steadily continued its march into enemy territory. It was comforting to see that the 69MoeLester420 ideology started spreading even among the locals. Even as insults were thrown against us, we had allies.
And then the news broke. The daily upload quota had been reached. No new posts could be made for the next 24 hours. Our troops' advancement has been halted. The movement soon fizzled out.
Walter remains on the site to this day, holding our ground. Further progress into their territory, however, is but a distant dream. 9GAG is a stronghold that not even Reddit's dankest chungi can conquer, its unwholesome users, like a hivemind, ferociously respond to any form of outside aggression. 9GAG will never change, will never die. In spite of our efforts, the terrible site still stands, just as it stood many years ago before the first Redditor breached its walls.
While more raids were attempted in the future, it was always with the knowledge that the forces 9GAG would prevail. There is no winning against these "people". Know that 9GAG is their territory, and they will fight to defend it from emoji-users at any cost. It doesn't matter how many n-words have to be dropped to achieve that.
The Human Cockroach and the Myth of Sisyphus
Anyone with the slightest knowledge of Greek mythology should be well aware of the myth of Sisyphus. Punished for his arrogance by the Gods, he is left with the task of pushing a boulder up a hill, with the prospect of escaping this punishment lying at the very top. Try as he might, however, as the boulder starts approaching the top of the steep hill, it rolls back to where it started, Sisyphus having made no progress at all. Yet Sisyphus does not give up. Every time the boulder rolls back, he follows, walking down to the bottom ready to start again.
Every good story needs a villain, and you don't make it to 50 members without making a few enemies. Most of them were your average run-of-the-mill internet assholes, saying the n-word a couple of times or being slightly annoying for a few minutes before promptly fucking off. There is, however, a single user so utterly pathetic, a life so absolutely worthless that they choose to spend the limited time they have on this Earth not only to rot in the dank pits of that gamer dungeon of theirs but to make their life's mission the mild annoyance of a few Reddit mods. A creature so devoid of any purpose in life, a tragic display of how low a human being could stoop, yet so infatuated by the smell of its own farts that it is unable for a moment to realize the worthlessness of its own existence. A pest that you can't get rid of, despite the dozens of times this user has been banned, they keep coming back, like a drug-starved addict that cannot go without their daily hit, dozens of alt accounts keep being made so they could stay on Reddit, being so reliant on the website that even a temporary withdrawal would result in a coma. The absolute definition of terminally online, this user shall remain unnamed, not for fear of retaliation, but to not provide them with a droplet of satisfaction for what they had done. Instead, they will be referred to as what they really are, a human cockroach, a being with no value to anyone, one that everyone wishes was just gone, their very lack of presence making the world a better place, yet one so persistent in its aims that no matter how much you stomp on it, it keeps coming back. One must embrace the cockroach as an unchanging constant in life, just as Sisyphus may never push the boulder up the cliff, so too will this user never be truly removed. Once you embrace the fact that this insect is here to stay, you may indulge in laughter at the pitiful ways this being claws for attention.
On November 11, the cockroach was first banned on the r/69MoeLester420 subreddit. While the specific reasons for this action were lost to time, the cockroach's username, a clear antisemitic dog whistle (or perhaps just a whistle), as well as its behavior in the following months, leaves racism as the most likely possibility. This first ban seemed to have not produced many issues, it would not be until January that things would truly start getting chaotic and our story would truly begin. It was on January 18 that the Cockroach was banned from the subreddit for a second time. The moment the gavel hit the hardwood, and the ban was dealt, the fate of the universe itself was sealed. An eternal nemesis found, one we may never get rid of, yet must keep on fighting, our own boulder to push.
On January 19, both Walter and SlenderSmurf woke up to their Reddit accounts temporarily suspended. The reason? Harassment. The Cockroach, the absolute human filth that it is, decided to report the modmail conversation to the Reddit admins, the low-life weasel, hitting and provoking for hours on end only to call the teacher the moment someone insults it back. The punishments, lasting 2 days and a week respectively, were served with dignity, as would be expected from Reddit mods worth their karma. It is important to note that it wasn't the length or even the existence of these bans that was insulting, but rather the fact that someone would stoop so low as to involve the Reddit admins in the situation. That is a sign of the lowest breed of man, one so pathetic and worthless, whose existence is so absolutely pointless, they would make a deal with Satan himself for temporary pleasure rather than admit defeat. It was like this that the moederators knew right away the type of person they were dealing with, yet even taking into account the racist tendencies the Cockroach put on display through their comments, nothing could prepare us for what would come next.
On February 13, as the encounter with the Cockroach started fading from the moederators' memories, an image got posted on the r/69MoeLester420 subreddit. Not any ordinary image, as one may see from the fact that its very existence warranted an entire paragraph of text. The image, featuring an uncensored, bloody penis cut in half in an incredibly unclean, gory fashion, got posted nineteen times. Nineteen. That is almost as much as 9+10. This would mark the First Impact, otherwise known as the Penis Gore Incident. Such an event is especially terrible for a small subreddit, as was r/69MoeLester420 at the time, not even having reached 5000 members, as such a high influx of gore content on a subreddit where the mods aren't terminally online might result in the entire subreddit being banned. The MoeLester Nation forever stays grateful to koonsbmw for being the first one on the ground and dealing with the situation in a quick and efficient fashion. Sadly, as one might expect, this was far from the only encounter with this user.
Remember that lockdown idea the moederators had, way back before the partnership with r/IDONTGIVEASWAG and r/IkeaFreshBalls was signed? The idea was, instead of leaving the floodgates open, each post would have to be approved by the mods. Although the idea wasn't implemented before, this situation provided the perfect opportunity to test it out. As the code was already in place, all that was left to do is to announce it. By the end of the day, the temporary lockdown had gone into effect [9], intended to stop any raids in the following days, until another, more effective and less intrusive method of moderation was found. At the advice of Sam, still a regular member at the time, a minimum karma limit was set up, filtering out any posts made by clearly new accounts.
The Cockroach was far from done. Unbeknownst to the moederators at the time, a vile scheme was being planned in the most twisted corners of the internet. A call to arms, intended to bring the Soy Army to the side of the Cockroach. Unfortunately for it, it would seem that not even the userbase of such depraved websites as soyjak.party would wish to associate itself with such an insult to what it means to be a human being. [10] Yet even so, give up it would not. On February 16, just as the lockdown was lifted, and the new measures put into place, a post from one of the Cockroach's alts made its way into the subreddit's mod queue. It was clear right away that this was not the last we would see of it. Soon after, a GIF with the caption "LOL UKRAINE", showing the death of two soldiers in the midst of the ongoing Russo-Ukrainian War, got posted, soon followed by a text post, written by a friend[citation needed] of the Cockroach, asking for its unbanning. Both posts were quickly removed. The Second Impact, thankfully, proved to be much easier to bear through.
Even though the Cockroach tried to make itself look like a based and red-pilled troll with posts such as these, as one might expect, things could not be further from the truth. As a thread on the thugposting subreddit r/wordington[11] shows, a mere day after the original incident, the user tried to explain away the situation by stating that its account was hacked by its friend [citation needed], sharing an insane story along with it. While this story cannot be neither verified nor proven false, the possibility still existing that the Cockroach was telling the truth, it is still important to keep in mind that this was far from the only incident involving this user. The threat to spam gore on the server was, by its own admission, sent by the Cockroach itself, and although it claims not to be responsible for the Penis Gore Incident, as more raids occurred in the future, some involving sharing material worse than the one sent during the First Impact, it shows that even if it was not the Cockroach who posted the images, it would still not be out of character for it to have gone through with it on its own.
The moederators did not have to wait for too long for proof of this thesis, as on February 21, the Third Impact would occur, this time on the server. 69MoeLester420 was under attack. And the worst part? We didn't even know about it. A few days before the incident, several users had joined the server, seemingly nothing out of the ordinary, some of them staying quiet and keeping to themselves, others occasionally even interacting with the mods. As the Second Impact was still fresh in the mods' minds, the conversation sometimes steered in that direction, with the new users playing along as though as if nothing was going on. It was on February 21 when the sleeper agents woke up. While not much remains as the messages were deleted automatically when the bans were dealt, one video remains, saved before the purge by Kae, which can only be described as edgy, an edit of the National Victory Celebration held after the conclusion of the Gulf War in 1991 [12] from all around the world with nothing but "RACISM IS NON-NEGOTIABLE" written all over it. There is but a single issue the Cockroach didn't anticipate. Every time a raid of its occurred, an additional line of defences was placed. Just as the subreddit placed a minimum karma barrier, along with some other measures to protect from raiders, some to protect from the Cockroach specifically, so too did the server soon start putting protections in place in order to prevent this from happening again. The Automoderator was set up, automatically kicking out any members below the minimum account age. From then on, it was only a matter of how long the Cockroach was willing to wait between each raid. The minimum age could always be raised, and not even the Cockroach could keep on waiting forever. The tides had shifted.
That is, until March 23, when another round of posts would hit the subreddit. The Fourth Impact took shape in the form of thirty-six separate bait-and-switch posts which would all cut to a video of a man, covered in shit, stroking his cock. One might wonder, what compels a man to send this? And to that I say, I am afraid we are not talking about a human being. Disgusting shock humor such as this is the absolute lowest form of comedy, one which should make you ashamed of your very existence, for how do you explain away the fact that you have this type of material saved on your device, not because you are sexually attracted to what is being depicted but rather because you find a man masturbating while covered in his own feces so amusing you cannot help your worthless ass but to snort and giggle in your gamer dungeon as you have experienced the absolute peak of your pathetic life when you decided to post it not once, but thirty-six separate times on a subreddit with less than 10k members. All this dedication to achieve an ultimately pointless goal, the banning of such a small subreddit would have changed nothing, yet the Cockroach still went on. Not even in the darkest pits of SoyBooru could find a proper portrayal of such an individual. It would almost be funny were it not so tragic.

Why does Sisyphus continue pushing the boulder? One might naively assume that it is the prospect of victory that compels him. Perhaps this may have been correct the first time the boulder was pushed up, maybe even the second, tenth, ten thousandth time. Yet it would soon dawn on Sisyphus that his task is hopeless. No matter how much effort is put in, the boulder will roll right back to the bottom. A question will soon be asked, what might be the point of such a task if it will always amount to failure? The pointlessness of it may prove brutal for some, for what is the point of anything if the outcome cannot be avoided? Albert Camus offers a different perspective. One must accept the absurd that surrounds us instead of trying to find a sense of meaning where there fundamentally isn't one. Sisyphus will never reach the top of the hill. Yet he continues on. He has accepted the meaninglessness of the task, and that acceptance allows him to truly live. He does not find joy in the victory he will never achieve, only to have his hopes crushed every time his progress is set back to the beginning. Instead, he finds happiness in every step he takes along the way, opting to enjoy the life that he has rather than spending this one hoping for what he may never have. And as the boulder rolls back, he takes a sigh of relief knowing he can take a break from his work, before going down to start the cycle once more. The joy comes from the task itself, not the reward that might await him, for as grueling as it all is, in the end, this boulder is his and his alone, and nothing can take that away from him. He finds meaning in living itself, no matter how pointless it may seem, for even so, his life, torturous as it may seem, is as valuable as anyone else's. In some sense, the Cockroach does the same. It is aware it will never win. So many times it has been banned instantly, yet it keeps on trying. It is the modern Sisyphus, determined to continue carrying on its endless task, as hopeless as it may seem. It does not care for the prospect of victory anymore. Instead, it finds joy in every n-word it drops, every dead child it posts. It is not the final goal that matters to it anymore, it knows more than well nothing will come out of its little stunts, it is the very process of annoying the mods that gives the Cockroach life. It is the journey that matters, not the destination. One must imagine the Cockroach happy.
The End of KittenStomper6617
On December 21, 2022, Puss in Boots: The Last Wish is released in theatres. Audiences from across the globe go wild. Considered by many to be one of the greatest pieces of animation from this past decade, it has received widespread acclaim and attention even from those that do not watch animated movies regularly. It became one of the most talked-about movies of the year, and it was no wonder that the discussion reached 69MoeLester420 as well. An unfortunate and unforeseen consequence of the conversations held about it was the self-imposed exile of the head moderator KittenStomper6617.
The day was January 20. KittenStomper6617 had, by that time, become an integral part of the server. Although he did not care about moderating at all, he was considered a part of the MoeLester family. It is no wonder that the Puss in Boots incident caused so much devastation to the community. It is a piece of drama that could have easily been avoided, yet snowballed to colossal proportions. Most of the moederators would like to leave this chapter behind and forever forget about it, not in the same way as with the soon to be mentioned Gladiux situation, but rather in the sense that it just sucks that it happened, with no contempt being held as much as the wish to leave the person behind and move on.
The offending message may have gone completely unnoticed in most internet spaces, yet Gladiux, for all his faults, rightfully took issue with the message. Although we all held some form of respect for KittenStomper6617, it was an undeniable fact that, once the proper context of the contents of the message settled in, this post was incredibly weird and pretty fucked up to share. Although KittenStomper6617 quickly tried to explain that he was talking about the voice of Puss, provided by Antonio Banderas, rather than his physical appearance. This did not satiate Gladiux, who, now with Gio by his side, continued with the attack by stating that even if that was what he meant, he shouldn't have worded it in that way. Ending the conversation by temporarily muting KittenStomper6617, he was nonetheless ready to forget about the entire situation as long as it didn't turn out to be a reoccurring issue.
It was then that things turned from weird to almost comically absurd. While people were ready to keep this incident in the past and forget about it, KittenStomper6617 couldn't help but repeatedly bring attention to it during the following hours. Bringing up the issue in a sarcastic manner in his DMs with Gladiux didn't do him any favors, as claiming evil spirits possessed him in a situation like this meant the slightest amount of respect Gladiux still held for KittenStomper6617 was starting to slip away. Soon came the question of whether he was even being ironic, as when the conversation resurfaced mere hours later in #general, he claimed to have looked back on the conversation and wondered if he was possessed when he had written stuff like this. While obviously done jokingly, some of the mods, once again led by Gladiux, believed that this was a clear manipulation attempt meant to strike pity, while also shifting blame on some abstract entity in the past as opposed to the current him. It was on par with a Youtube apology video. The mods weren't buying it.
It was not long after that KittenStomper6617 left the server. As far as anyone is aware, he hasn't stayed in contact with the other mods. The whole fiasco left everyone with a lot of mixed feelings about the entire thing. While it was agreed that what he did was bad, the moederators were left wondering whether they had gone too hard on him. No matter our feelings about him, nothing can change what went down on that day, the relationship with him permanently ruined, KittenStomper6617 becoming another lost moederator in the list of many, additionally soured by the fact that he was the original creator of the subreddit. With yet another chapter of the server's history closed, the turbulent ride is nearing its end.
A Change in Ownership
On January 20, mere hours after KittenStomper6617 left the server, Mr. Sex announced he would be abdicating his position as server Owner. It was clear the server was undergoing massive changes. Nominating Moe himself to be the owner, as well as Walter, after a short back-and-forth between the two the honor ultimately fell upon Walter to lead the server in the following months. Although the situation surrounding the server was already unstable given KittenStomper6617's recent unexpected exile, it would get much worse during this final period in the history of 69MoeLester420, as it seemed as if things would truly fall apart many times over. The mod team's numbers have already dwindled quite a bit during the past few months and would continue doing so until the very end of the server. And so, Mr. Sex exchanged his final goodbyes before leaving, the ownership transferred to Walter, and an uncertain future for this wonderful place looming in the distance.
The Gladiux Saga: Part One
It was always quite clear that Gladiux was a dick. There is no going around it. From the very beginning of the server, if someone was to be leading the charge against whichever moederator happened to slip up at the time, it was Gladiux, with Gio by his side, hurling insults and aggressively making fun of them until they willfully left on their own. For a long time, this behavior was tolerated, while clearly toxic, it was always directed at people the members of the server took issue with anyways, and as pointlessly mean those comments were in retrospect, at the time, it wasn't taken as an issue. But when the mod drama died down and Gladiux had to find a new target, things turned for the worse for him.
As mentioned previously, by this point in time, the server was, for the most part, dedicated only to conversations between Sam and Kae, who have almost completely taken over the server due to the fact that they sent two orders of magnitude more messages than the rest of the server combined. Gladiux was not a fan of this, having referred to these conversations as e-dating in the past, and wanted to put an end to this. Knowing the past behavior of Gladiux, one may soon realize that he does not give up on his goals easily, deciding to attack relentlessly for as long as it takes for whoever's back the target has been painted on to leave on their own. As Kae was a mod at the time, this left only Sam as a suitable candidate. Acting like a complete and utter prick at any occasion he had the chance to, he would also time out and sometimes kick Sam out of the server, who, in spite of Gladiux's behavior, returned every time.
Gladiux did not stop at Sam, however, soon providing the same courtesy to some of the new members of the server. While in his mind this may have been a brilliant satire of how Discord power mods act moronically and ban anyone who dare say a word to them, in reality, he was doing the same exact thing he was criticizing. It's not really a joke anymore once you actually go through with it, it's just annoying to whoever is on the receiving end. How funny is it being the butt of the joke? Not much, according to Sam, who had gotten quite annoyed by Gladiux's behavior by then, and started making calls for the moederators to do something about him. As it was obvious that the joke was being taken too far, to the point where new users were turned away from the server solely because of his presence, Walter decided to talk to Gladiux about it. Not wanting to cause any drama, God knows there had already been far too much in the past of this server, he politely asked for him to stop and tone it down a notch as it was quite obvious the new users were starting to fucking hate us.
Of course, we all know where this conversation actually led to. Had he listened to it, there would have been no point in writing this section. This behavior continued in the following days, and on February 9, after Sam had repeatedly been kicked out, Walter received DMs from both him and Kae asking for Gladiux's removal. In the back of his mind, Walter had already considered Gladiux to be an asshole we shouldn't keep on the mod team for a while. The only issue was that, although Walter was the server Owner at the time, Gladiux was higher in the r/69MoeLester420 hierarchy. This meant that even if Walter had stripped Gladiux of all his mod duties on the server, nothing stopped him from doing the same to Walter on the subreddit. And to a Reddit mod, there is nothing more terrifying than that. The mods needed divine intervention, and thankfully, Moe was ready to help. While the conversation on the server continued as normally, behind the scenes, in the shadows, a conspiracy was starting to form and be taken into action. On the subreddit, both Gladiux and Gio, his loyal partner in crime, got all their moderating permissions taken away. They did not get completely demodded, however, allowing them to keep their place in the mod hierarchy should things change in the future. On the server, meanwhile, Walter removed their moewner roles, before finally announcing it to the server. It was the perfect crime.
It wasn't long before Gladiux had realized what had happened. The response was pretty much what we had expected. The first thing he mentioned was how he wanted to demod Walter, thankfully, however, Moe had made sure that would not be possible. Gio immediately started complaining about how he was punished for nothing, even though the reason for him losing the moewner role was the unstopping encouragement of Gladiux's behavior at every turn, which all active members of the server could attest to. While he wasn't the one dealing out time-outs and kicks, not only had he done nothing to stop it, but actively cheered it on. Gladiux got kicked out from the server by Kae, while Gio remained disgraced, from now on as moederator instead of moewner.
Here's the funny part. Do you notice those four 👆 reactions under the message? People were approving massively of this decision, even though Gladiux's behavior was like this since the very beginning of the server. It's just that no one had spoken up about it. We all wanted him gone but were afraid to tell him all this time for whatever reason. To avoid drama, to not have us kicked out from the subreddit, or most likely, not knowing how much the others on the server shared our feelings about him. It wasn't before we were certain there was a significant amount of people that hated him that we even thought about removing his role. And it all goes back to that at the time harmless decision to give him the moewner role all those months back. He was granted authority he never deserved and asserted it through his aggressive behavior during the past few months. No one could have demodded him on their own, it was only when the people of the server united that anything could have been done.
The Wojak Vore Incident
On January 19, the First Wojak Vore Incident would occur. Although forgotten by history for the most part, to some it even seems surprising there were two of them, it remains important as it had set the stage for future events that were, at the time, yet to come. On this day, ivan697 would post an image depicting four separate instances of wojak vore, arranged like a political compass, to the r/69MoeLester420 subreddit. Neither the image nor the removed post will be linked in order to preserve your eyeballs. Search for it at your own risk. While it left most mods simply dumbfounded, in the end, Gladiux would be the one to ultimately remove the post.
