The Rip Drake hashtag was an effort to make a popular Twitter hashtag, on social media, hashtags are used on microblogging and photo-sharing services such as Twitter or Instagram as a form of user-generated tagging that enables cross-referencing of content by topic or theme.
The hashtag would try to falsify Drake's, an american rapper's death, this hashtag originates in the Whenthe server.

On the 15th of November, an announcement was posted in the #announcements channel by the user Wurzt that told members to start sending messages with the #RipDrake hashtag on the Twitter platform, many other servers such as Dogelore or Irony Hub also helped with the effort of pushing the hashtag into the trending section of Twitter.
This goal was finally met and thanks to that many innocent individuals were caught up in a somewhat elite act of ironic trolling.[1][2]

All of this resulted in an official statement from the Twitter team, [3]calming many people down who actually believed that Drake died from unknown causes.
After everything was over, wurzt posted a list of the most notable people who helped powering the hashtag. Also thanking them in the process.[4]
