The origins of the subreddit date back to May 1st 2020 when user u/z_kyro would make /r/ComedyEpilepsy a reality. Taking inspiration from /r/ComedyNecrophilia aswell as /r/ComedySeizure and mixing them together and only featuring video meme posts on the subreddit. A proto version of what we now call as 21st century humor. Though this had already been a thing within the platform known as IFunny, these memes were often reffered to as "IFunny Poops."

=== Creation of An Official Discord Server ===
On December 20th, 2020 one of the moderators of the subreddit, u/TheDefectiveSnoo would announce the creation of an official /r/ComedyEpilepsy discord server.

=== Meme Monday Vote ===
On February 13th, 2021 there would be a public vote announced regarding "Meme template Mondays", as submissions of templates were being posted on other days than Monday, and the mods worried that this would decrease the quality of the subreddit as those were just templates not fitting the subreddit. 427 votes were casted, 100 voted to remove meme template Monday, 327 voted to keep it.
